I took a test on line to see if I was a good googler, it turns out that I was morderate. To find this out it helped me to learn to find information faster and better. I use google for everything, from complicated math problems, to a recipe, or to the location of a resturaut. To be a good googler will help you in your daily life when your an adult as well. Most people google at least once a day.
I believe that I take many things for granted. From my clothes, house, car and family, I think that i dont realize on a daily basis of how much I have compared to others. Knowing what I have makes me thankful this time of year. Especially for the health of my family and that we are all taken care of. Around thanksgiving, my family donates money to our locate Saint Vincent DePauls and to needy familys, as well as give donations at church. We reconginize all that we have and try to take care of others that are less fortunate as us.
Norway high school is going to be getting a new coding class in the year of 2017. I will be gone but this will be a great opportunity for all of our students to have. Many students will make use of this and use this class for there future and the jobs. I will not be taking any coding classes because that is not the field that I am going into. I know many students that will make use of this class and take skills from it into their field of study. if this class were availible to me this year, i probably would have taken it but becuase i have tried coding before I did not like it but I would like to spread my horisions and try something new.
Social media play a large role in every presidential election. Many people see what candidates are saying, have said and what they say they'll do when they are elected. People watch clips of presidential campaign and debates online. Also, whenever a election is near, many people have different opinions. People have a right to there own opinion but they also post this on Facebook and other social media accounts. Many of friends have different opinions and are defriending and unfollowing people because of the election.
Today we talked about a company that was started in January and was just bought out for 700 million dollars. This company was creating a driverless truck. The very first truck just delivery Budweiser beer on Tuesday. This is the power of a startup company. To be able to create something so huge and to make something out of it. These trucks are going to change the way we drive and deliver items. This will make roads safer for others driving at night. Truck driver usually are very tired because they drive long hours and all over the country. With driverless trucks there would be no need for sleepy drivers. And if they were there and got tired they could just take a nap. These truck will change the way we live.
Today we watched a video in class about brain wave technology. The girl they did the experimental surgery, Jan, on had to have brain surgery and this allowed her brain waves to be read by a robotic arm. This aloud her to do things that she could no longer do on her own. I think this field of study is very cool and will be advancing and needing more people to go into it. With all of the war and diseases out there, there are many people that could use this technology now.
The power of believing is a powerful thing. My volleyball coach once told me the most powerful emotion is hope. Just believing that you will be great effects your chances of wining a game or accomplishing a goal. Tonight is the Norway vs. Iron Mountain rivalry game. The school is filled with excitement. The players, the students, the faculty are all pumped. The power of believing brings you to believe that you do have the power to win at anything you do. If you go into a game thinking that you will lose, chances are you probably will. But if you go into a game thinking you have a chance at winning and want to do your very best and play your hardest, you could come out with a win.
We got to watch a video of a man explaining and using a hologram. I like that education is finally picking up and that there is more technology in the classroom and this is advancing our curriculum as a school system, this will be the future of technology. I think that is would be so cool to use holograms in the classrooms. I think it would be so cool to have no paper and be able to write on desks and be able to submit work online.
The future of education is going got change so much from what it is now a days. I do not agree with the article that we discussed in class today. I believe that kids will slid through the system just as they have been for so many years. To give students calculators and no teach them anything beyond that will be detrimental to our society. I believe that teachers are meant to teach not to just find videos and throw those in front of students. Teachers should not only teacher though, they should teach the lesson and then give examples and take questions. This is how our school system should be run. How I learn as a student is not in front of a computer, working only on a computer with an instructor that barley looks up is a terrible class that I would not want to be in.
Legacy. what does legacy mean to you. what people think about you after you have died. sometimes legacy's are small like from a school sport or a hard class. you hear many people say "remember that hit that they had last year" or "they were the only person ever to get that problem". Those are small legacy's. The ones that you don't know you are making. In high school there's a class legacy and a individual legacy. I think that not many people will really think about me too much, I haven't done anything super bad for them to involve my name in that. teacher will remember me for my work ethic, my attitude and my involvement within the school environment. It's important to leave a good legacy because when employers asked about your past or they call people from where you came from they will want goo responses nothing that will make you look bad. overall your individual and class legacy's are important.
